Deploying Feature Update Win10 1703 on 1607 machines RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, May I know if anyone succeeded in deploying the Win 10 1703 feature on Win 10 1607 machines having CM 1606 as the client version? It does not seem to work for me. Understand that MS mentioned that it requires CM 1702 to manage Win 10 1703 clients, but i thought this should not prevent the upgrade to happen. Getting the error- installation result = 0x80240020, Reboot State = NoReboot

    Thanks,

    Anantha

  • I'm running into the same issue upgrading Win 10 1607 to 1703...getting error 0x80240020 and I'm running CM 1702.  I've tried using the Windows Update fix via the troubleshooting tool and it still fails.  It first errors with 0xc1900208, then when I retry it gives me the 0x80240020 error (on a test I made the upgrade set as optional/available, then initiated as a user with Admin privs...no luck).

    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi Anantha,

Have you updated SCCM to 1702? Have you updated the ADK to the latest 1703 version?
Please update SCCM to 1702 then check the symptom again. Update the ADK at the same time.
To troubleshoot whether the issue is related to the SCCM configuration, we could try to upgrade with a local Windows 10 ISO.

If the issue is verified to be caused by the SCCM, it is recommended to ask for help from our SCCM forum.
