Selecting Enterprise Project Types from Project Progessional RRS feed

  • Question

  • We have enterprise project types with their associates templates, workflows, and site templates successfully configured.  These work as designed when creating a project from within PWA.

When a project is created/published from within Project Professional (using an enterprise template), the default type is used.  Our project team feels creating the project from within Professional is faster and works in their processes better.

Is it possible to create a project within Professional what will respect the Enterprise Project Type settings?

  • Hello,

Project Professional / Project Desktop doesn't make use of the EPT infrastructure so unfortunatly projects would need to be created via PWA. If you use the same project site templates on all your EPTs / don't create the Project Site automatically on publish, you could create all your projects via Project Pro, then use PWA to change the EPT type and restart any workflows etc then create a project site on the next publish / manually if you did have different project site templates per EPT? Might work / be an option as a workaround but it's just easier to create the project in PWA selecting the correct EPT in the first place.
