Stop error ox0000008e RRS feed

  • I am currenly running xp professional on a Dell dimension 4700.  When booting I get this error intermittently.  If I reboot it boot ok in normal mode.  Any suggestions?

  • The Stop 0x0000008E (KERNEL_MODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED) indicates that a kernel-mode application generated an exception that the error handler did not catch. This bugcheck can be caused by hardware incompatibility or by faulty device driver or system service.

    Locate the DMP file in the \Windows\Minidump folder, upload it to your Windows Live SkyDrive, make it publicly accessible and post the URL here; also check the "System" log in Event Viewer for additional error messages that might help identify the device or driver that is causing the bugcheck.
