Threshold for LSASS on multi-core servers RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi-

We are having issues properly tuning the CPU monitors for LSASS on our AD servers. We have ~40 AD servers with different numbers of CPUs, different cores, etc.  We have tried the STT monitor and adjusted the outer limit, but we are still getting a lot of events.

If I create a report for LSASS Process Time I can see spikes to 150-225% so and 80% (default threshold) won't work. How do we account for all of these different configurations?

It doesn't seem like SCOM uses a Total CPU Processor Time counter when evaluating how much processor time is being used by LSASS. Is this the case? Any ideas?

    Thanks, Michael
