  • What are you installing?

    Please run the system update readiness tool.

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/What-is-the-System-Update-Readiness-Tool?SignedIn=1

    Then post the complete contents of;
    %SYSTEMROOT%\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log

  • I'm unable to update windows update on windows server 2008 standard edition with service pack2.

    Also Automatic updates service and Background Intelligent Transfer Service does not appear in the service list, so I try to run the following command in run box to get the Automatic updates service back to list.

    %windir%\System32\rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\inf\au.inf

    Prompt "installation failed" occured.

    Also when I ran Windows6.0-KB947821-v33-x64, got an error as

    Installer encounter an error : 0x80070424

    The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
