Just facing a problem here. My pc, which is toshiba with vista basic, suddenly has no sound. Nothing at all. I can't use my dvd driver..and everytime I play movies/music, it suddenly stop. I have no nero and never had. I just have winamp, windows media player, flv and some basic ones. I have checked my device only to find that it is working properly but it was failed when I did sound test. And every time I open the playback device this message pops up:

The faulty module name quoted was "RtkAPO.dll" and it is in connection with your Realtek Drivers. You might have to update your sound drivers. Open up windows update and check if you have any optional updates on Realtek. In case, there is one install it and check your sound. If you fail to see any realtek drivers in your Windows update console, then you may have to uninstall the existing realtek drivers in Programs and features. Having uninstalled the drivers, you would download and install the latest updated sound drivers from Toshiba website.
