  • Hi All-

I'm planning my first deployment of FCS and would love some advice and direction on where to install the management console.  My setup looks like this:

    Server #1 = SBS 2003 SP2 Premium (AD, Exchange 2003, SQL 2000 & 2005).

    Server #2  = Win2003 SP2 (WSUS 3.0,  Users & Company Folders).

    Server #3 = Win2003 SP2  (SQL 2005, Accounting Application).

    Thanks for any tips!

  • How many are users?, you can deploy three server topology o single server topology,
depends on how many users are

  • Hi

If you going to deploy to less than 100 users which I am guessing you will because you running SBS, then try to install everything on 1 server as it will make it easier.  I doubt you going to scale to senarios that require more than a single server topology.

SBS 2003 comes with SQL 2005 workgroup edition.  You cannot install Forefront onto the workgroup edition of SQL 2005.

So maybe install everything to the Server #3 above except the distribution component which you will install on Server #2 where your WSUS is.  Please ensure you have met all the pre-requesits on that server so that you can deploy forefront and all its components.

Please post further if you request further assistance.

    Kind Regards

    Robert
