Windows 7 Ultimate Media Center problem

  My problem is that the "ehrecvr.exe" service is leaking memory horribly and is causing Media Center to shutdown every time I try to view live TV.
  It starts up using about 6MB ram, then within about 40 seconds is using 1GB and stops around there.  If I terminate the service, it restarts automatically, and repeats the same thing.
  
  My TV tuner is an AverMedia M780 NTSC/ATSC Combo/dual tuner PCIe card, and works just fine in the (very ugly) AverMedia software.
  
  Event Viewer doesn't seem to have anything helpful, and nothing mentioning ehrecvr.exe.  There are several entries for ehshell.exe, which read:

  What would be making ehrecvr.exe leak memory so badly, and why can't media center use my tuner?
  I would really like to stop using AverMedia's horribly ugly software...
  
  Any help/thoughts are most appreciated, if more information is needed, please let me know.
