Disable Automap exchange service pack 2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it possible to disable automapping in exchange 2010 sp2 so it no longer automaps mailboxes in outlook when you add full access permissions?

I have a client that doesnt want this feature enabled but wants the ability to open mailboxes and add access to other mailboxes easy without them showing up in their mailbox. Currently i know you can only disable it via Exchange management shell but you have to keep running the script whenever you modify the full access permissions. I am wondering if their is an easy way I can accomplish this without having to touch powershell everytime i create a user.

  • I realize you can do this but im just trying to find out if you can just turn automap off without having to run scripts everytime you create a mailbox. Is there a script that disables it entirely?

No, it cant be disabled, scripting is probably the only option to disable it after the fact per

  • Thanks for the response. Is there an easy way to automate the process with an executable file that would run the exchange shell script.  So they would  execute the executable and be prompted for what mail box they would like to modify.
