  • Question

  • Good day. i have recently set my pc to its factory settings because of some errors occured after i had installed softwares. by the way, this laptop is a second hand one which means someone offered me and sold this to me. There was no problem with it when i received it. It is less than 1 year old and i expect it can still operate properly and remotely. Back to the course, the pc becomes abnornal when i used to install software like Powerdirector , microsoft office 2010 etc. i also installed antivirus software to protect the pc. Then after just 3 days the windows BSOD has crashed the computer, i thought it was just a normal restart probably because of i did something so i didnt mind it. Then because of abnormal and malfunctions of the computer, i decided to reset it back to it starting point. The pc runs so slow and i suspected it has been insfected with malware and virus. When i was in the process of reformatting it, in the configuration set-up, the laptop always rebooted almost 7 or more times, it said windows 7 has bla bla bla.... so i end it up i began to configure it again the next day. When i start the laptop, it has configured completely but some restart points said errors. i began to install the featured applications and use it normally. but the thing is it still crashes down BSOD. and when i start it with start button, it starts again and needs starupt repair. here's my questions:

    1. What can be the reason why my laptop always crashes down? can it be a software even if i had reformatted it?

    2. why the pc still reboots and doesn't continue on starting windows. instead it shuts down and reboots again. and prompt me to start up repair or launch normally.

    3. i hadn't receive any recovery disc and installer for Windows 7 Home Premium. my drive has its partition where Toshiba's installed application are stored. can i use a back up cd or dvd drive to save those featured application if i'll be going to install another hard drive if the problem is about it? and can i still install windows 7 with another installer? and what is the recovery disc why the way? please do anything to back my laptop normally. i still want to recover the toshiba's applications after i replace my hard drive soon

Please answer all these as soon as possible. I dont really know why this laptop behaves like this. thank you and God Bless

  • We need the actual dump files , so we do not have to rely  on a utility that is inaccurate, more often than not.

Please collect, zip, upload to a file sharing site of your choice and share a link to the files in your next post. If you don't know how, see link below for instructions.

  • When BSOD occurs memory dump files are generated. The small memory dump file contains the smallest amount of useful information that could help you identify why your computer crashed. Small memory dump files are present in  the %SystemRoot%\Minidump folder. You need to upload those here so that they could be analysed for further help and assistance.

  • Hi,

According to your description, this issue could be an indication of a hardware problem or a driver problem, overheating, software conflicts. You can update the drivers , check the battery, update BIOS for a test.

I also would like to share this KB with you:

Windows Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows 8, Windows Server 2012, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 R2

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2028504

As S.Sengupta mentioned before, to find the actual cause, we need the dump files.

How to read the small memory dump file that is created by Windows if a crash occurs

  • Regarding to the recovery disk\repair disk, it can help you reair a corrupted system, I'd like to share the following link with you:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/create-a-system-repair-disc

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/restore-computer-from-system-image-backup#1TC=windows-7

but if you want to clean reinstall the system, the Toshiba's installed application will be removed, you can backup the executable program files before the reinstallation, then restore it to your newer system, install again, or just look for the program in the Toshiba manufacture website, download and install these applications again.

  • Hi,

The dump files show the crash is

    Probably caused by : memory_corruption

    BugCheck A (IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL (a)
An attempt was made to access a pageable (or completely invalid) address at an
interrupt request level (IRQL) that is too high.)

I suggest you run Memory Diagnostics Tool

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows7/diagnosing-memory-problems-on-your-computer

Meanwhile, please refer to the link below to troubleshoot this issue

Hi, if you can find the installation package of these application, then you can backup the packages in an empty  disk, it's also important to backup other important data in this system if you want to reinstall the Windows 7. In order to perform a clen reinstallation, you need to have a installation disk, or an image. if the Windows 7 has a recovery image provided by the computer manufacturer, then you can also simply restore the PC to a factory settings.
