  • Hi,

Windows Explorer crashes are mostly caused by an incompatible Shell Extension.

please download this reg file from my SkyDrive:

    http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer.reg

and make a double click on the file to import it. If you can't do this, run regedit.exe and import the registry file there!

When the Windows Explorer crashes, Windows Error Reporting Service [1] creates a dmp file under C:\Localdumps. Please upload the file to your public Skydrive [2] folder and post the link here. I take a look at the dump with the Debugger, maybe I can see which Shell extension is the cause.

  • the dump is not helpful, but can you check if the crash happen without this DLL loaded, too?

        Image path: C:\Program Files\Roxio\Roxio Burn\RBVirtualFolder.dll
        Image name: RBVirtualFolder.dll
        Timestamp:        Thu Aug 19 20:20:38 2010 (4C6D75F6)
        CheckSum:         000AEFC8
        ImageSize:        000A9000
        File version:     1.80.69.0
        Product version:  1.0.0.1

If you still get crashes, import this registry file:

    http://cid-128fc518635be2dc.office.live.com/self.aspx/.Public/MS%20Foren/Registry/WER%5E_Explorer%5E_full.reg

    and upload the larger dump.

  • As the file you asked is larger than 50 MB it is not possible to upload to  skydrive. So iam sending link of that file which is on "sky drive synced storage".The link to that file is

  • Hi,

    your link doesn't work.

Zip the dmp with 7zip to reduce the size.

  • The file is compressing up to maximum size of 56.4MB.Further compressing is also leading to size of 56.4MB only.Say another way please.

This time problem signature has changed.

  • Hi,
with 7zip you set the max file size to 49MB and 7zip creates now 2 parts. Upload both parts.

  • Hello again !

Unfortunately I didn't got any ideas yet !?

Can please someone have a look on my dump files ?

I've tried it by my own but unfortunately I didn't got any information out of it...it seems I need a little more know how :-)

Meanwhile I've deinstalled all stuff from Sophos Virus Scan.

I remove every Sophos entry in Registry and Explorer but the problem still exists.

What else can I trie ? Do you have any further idea ?

My admins are already in hurry to reinstall and reactivate the Sophos on my System...is there anythink we can try before ?

I've uploaded a new DMP file in my SkyDrive.

Can please someone have a look at it !?
