DISM - Turn off Windows Features RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hey,

I've seen that it's possible to turn off Windows Features using DISM.  Do I just use the names as listed in 'Turn Windows features on or off':

This is what I am trying to achieve - have some of the default ones off by default.  Not remove/disable them completely.  Which option do I use for DISM?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

You and add /remove features with DISM.

    1. You should know which feature you are interested in.

     Examples:
          DISM.exe /online /Get-Features /Format:Table

    2. Choose your desired feature you may want to remove.

    Example:
          DISM.exe /Online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:Hearts

  • You can do this in MDT in the task sequence . Just add role, install roles and features and then select what you want. I normally do this on my reference image task sequence just before the pre windows update under state restore.
