User Rights Delegation via Powershell (Server 2012) RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Hi

    In the Exam Ref 70-414 book the author refers the the following powershell cmdlets in server 2012 to assign /delegate user rights by using the constant names.

    The cmdlets;

    Get-privilege

    Grant-privilege

    Revoke-privilege

    Test-privilege

    I am not sure if i'm missing something blatantly, but i seem not to find any information or syntax on this, even after updating powershell help, it doesn't recognize the cmdlets.

    Any help will be appreciated.

  • I think you need to post your question on the book publishers site as there are not CmdLets like that on WS2012.

    There are CmdLets in the PSCX extensions for Get and Set but not the rest.

  • I don't have them either (even in Windows Server Technical Preview)

    however exact same commands are available from get-carbon.org

    Maybe someone forgot to point out the source :)

    You skipped the part about downloading and installing PSCX.  Go back and read carefully.

    Post your issue about the confusion caused by the book in the MS publishers forum. MSPress.
