Open Edge settings : GPO

  • Hi,

I Would like to use GPO to choose Edge settings :
      1) Open Microsoft Edge with
      2) Open new tabs with

I found in User Configuration/Policies/Administrative Templates Policy Definitions/Windows Components/Microsoft Edge a setting called Configure Home pages
I change the state to enabled and strike about:Tabs

So the first point is OK (but not showed by the good choice in the Edge Settings)

But I found nothing for the second point.
I would like to get Top sites and I got Top sites and suggested content.

How can I change that ?

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi Ludovic,

Please notice this GPO: Allow web content on New Tab page.

This policy setting lets you configure what appears when Microsoft Edge opens a new tab. By default, Microsoft Edge opens the New Tab page.

If you enable this setting, Microsoft Edge opens a new tab with the New Tab page.

If you disable this setting, Microsoft Edge opens a new tab with a blank page. If you use this setting, employees can't change it.

If you don't configure this setting, employees can choose how new tabs appears.

In my opinion, we can just let it stays in Not Configured state.

There are not much available policies for now, please check this link below.

Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 can be download from here.

  • Hi,

Unhapply it doesn't work as needed.

With this settings for the GPO I got :

    When I launch Edge

When I want a new Tab

I'm disappointed to know that I can't set by GPO what I can set by GUI !
