Word 2010 Mail Merge RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am creating a Mail Merge document with information from another application.  I created a table to capture the information, however, each time the merge sequence # changes the table is split. How can I stop this from happening.

  • Unless you use a label merge, every row will be a separate table. That said, re-combining the separate tables is easily done via a macro such as:

    Sub TableJoiner()
    Application.ScreenUpdating = False
    Dim oPara As Paragraph
    For Each oPara In ActiveDocument.Paragraphs
      With oPara.Range
        If .Information(wdWithInTable) = True Then
          With .Next
            If .Information(wdWithInTable) = False Then
              If .Text = vbCr Then .Delete
            End If
          End With
        End If
      End With
    Application.ScreenUpdating = True
    End Sub
