AD Connect Health Sync Insights Service error, keeps crashing

    Question

  • Fairly recent install (3 months) of AD Connect, synching small AD domain with Office 365.

While AD Connect is working fine, the Health Insights service keeps crashing with the following .NET Runtime error (Event 1025) logged in the event viewer:

Application: Microsoft.Identity.AadConnect.Health.AadSync.Host.exe Framework Version: v4.0.30319 Description: The application requested process termination through System.Environment.FailFast(string message). Message: The agent shutdown because the Health module detected that its memory utilization (Private Bytes) is 65.2265625, which is above our configured Threshold of 0 MB. MachinePhysicalMemory: 0, MaxMemoryUsageRatio: 0.1 Stack: at System.Environment.FailFast(System.String) at Microsoft.Identity.Health.Common.Clients.Modules.AgentHealth.OnTimedEventForMemoryCheck(System.Object, System.Timers.ElapsedEventArgs) at System.Timers.Timer.MyTimerCallback(System.Object) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.RunInternal(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean) at System.Threading.ExecutionContext.Run(System.Threading.ExecutionContext, System.Threading.ContextCallback, System.Object, Boolean) at System.Threading.TimerQueueTimer.CallCallback() at System.Threading.TimerQueueTimer.Fire() at System.Threading.QueueUserWorkItemCallback.System.Threading.IThreadPoolWorkItem.ExecuteWorkItem() at System.Threading.ThreadPoolWorkQueue.Dispatch()

It seems odd to me that it is complaining about a "configured threshold of 0 MB". I have no idea where this is configured.

There is also an application error event 1000 logged:

Faulting application name: Microsoft.Identity.AadConnect.Health.AadSync.Host.exe, version: 2.6.449.0, time stamp: 0x5807a893

Server is Windows Server 2012. Performance monitor shows only 62% RAM usage.

Any ideas on how to get this running reliably?

    Tim
