Can we set multiple accounts used for Client Push Installation? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    We are running SCCM 1610.

I want to push the CCM client from SCCM to our workstations and servers. Inside Site Configuration > Sites > Client Push Installation > Accounts I have specified an account that is a member of the local Administrator group of all our workstations and the CCM push works good.

Now I want to also push CCM to our servers but the local administrator account is different than the one used for the workstations.

If I add a 2nd account under the "Accounts" tab in Client Push Installation, how will SCCM know which account to use for servers and which account to use for workstations?

What is the logic behind this? If the first account fails, it will try using the second account for installing the ccm client? Will this cause issues down the road when deploying applications/software?

    Thanks.

  • Yes, this is fine. ConfigMgr will simply try them all in order on each system until one succeeds.

Your client push account has nothing to do with any client activities and is purely used during client push for the site server to deliver files to the target system.
