"Window Color and Appearance" 3D-Border affecting certain registry entries. How to calculate those? RRS feed

  • Question

  • If you use the "Window Color and Appearance" dialog which can be found under "Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Personalization", changing "Color1" of item "3D-Border" will result in a change of the following
entries in the registry key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors]:

    group1: InactiveTitle, AppWorkspace, ButtonShadow, Graytext
    group2: Scrollbar, ButtonHilight

Now my question is how are these resulting values being calculated from the given "Color1"?
    Any help would be appreciated.

  • Hi Neuroquad,

It is related to Windows 7 coding. There is no document to explain this. Thanks for your understanding.
