After Extended Screen Saver Windows 7 Taskbar Disappears, but Start Icon remains RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a screen saver created for  use with windows xp. I installed this into windows 7, and if I leave the system idle for a day or so, I will come back and find that the taskbar as disappeared, although the start menu icon is still there. Rebooting the system resolves this, but the problem reemerges if the system is left for an extended period with the screen saver active.

Is there any way to return the taskbar without restart? Is there any way to fix this behavior and still use a custom screen saver?

  • I suspect that the screensaver is not compatible with Windows 7. You may uninstall it.
