Clean install of SCCM 2012 SP2, unable to upgrade to 2012 R2 Sp1. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I just set up a clean 2012 Sp2 setup and then ran the upgrade file to bring it to 2012 R2 SP1, but the upgrade doesn't seem to work.

When I go in "About System Center Configuration Manager" it says it's a Sp2 setup, not a R2 Sp1, but when I try to run the upgrade again it says I need to be running a 2012 Sp2 setup.

Any idea what the problem might be? I've looked at the ConfigMgrSetup.log but I can find any problems.

    Regards,

    Freyr

  • SC2012_R2_SP1_Configmgr.exe contains Configmgr2012R2SP1.msi which should write a logfile. What does it tell?

  • Where would that logfile be, I can't find it on C root?

  • I've tried running splash.hta from command prompt as an admin, it says it finished the upgrade but console says differently, this also happens when I run Configmgr2012r2sp1.msi from command prompt as admin.

When I run Configmgr2012r2sp1.msi by double clicking it, it says I need a SCCM 2012 SP2 enviroment to run it.

  • Hi,

Have you tried to re-download SCCM 2012 R2 sp1? Still same issue?

    Best Regards,
