Desktop Wallpaper Slideshow RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a utility that does similar slideshow for me - not Microsoft. It works fine.

Now, when I go into  desktop wallpaper settings and do something that invokes new desktop slideshow mechanism - I mean that "nice" wallpaper transition effect - this transition effect remains active. Note, I did not activate wallpaper slideshow, I pressed "Cancel". I just want to disable wallpaper transition animation.

  • I am not sure we are on the same page.
In Windows 7 desktop wallpaper setup there is no "none" wallpaper, and there is no "apply" button; there is "clear all" and "save changes" though... and that does not help (does not disable wallpaper transition animation).

Also, I must tell to those who understand: changing parent of "SHELLDLL_DefView" from "Progman" to almost anonymous "WorkerW" is a very dangerous design decision.
