My vista ultimate shows no sound card is installed at all and nividia doesn't have the audio drivers or know why they dont appear in vista while my geforce 4 display drivers still do and upon install vista created file windows.old containing all program data and essentially selling 130 gigs of my space is my old boot disc wont restore windows xp to my computer is there any way to recover old pictures/audio/video files before completely reformating and going back to xp?
If your old files are not present in Vista they should be in the Windows.old folder. Either way you should be able to copy them to an external drive or DVD/CD before formatting. If your motherboard is Nvidia chip based there are Vista drivers available for most Nforce platforms here - http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
