SharePoint Popping up for credentials in datasheet view RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

There is a SharePoint List which contains user name as a field. Whenever I open that list in datasheet view and click on the user name arrow in the sheet it pops up with the credentials window. Even if I enter my credentials it doesn't seem to go away.

    Please advise.

  • Add the site to your "local intranet" zone in IE (if group policy, etc...doesn't prevent you)...  Datasheet view uses add-ins from office that will read your security zones from IE... if the zone doesn't have the right settings to pass credentials, you will be prompted.

  • Hi,

I've tried that but it still prompts for credentials. I've even checked the server logs and that doesn't point towards anything useful either.

  • when you say username field, are you talking about a Person or Group field?

  • Yes that's right. The list has that field added and when the list is edited in datasheet view and when I click on any of the user names in the datasheet view, it pops up with the credentials window. Even after entering my credentials, the window keeps popping up.
