[App-V 5] Error when trying to import a package 0C80070057

    Question

  • Hi,

I've got an error message when I try to add a package with App-V 5.0 in standalone mode and I don't understand why. This is the error message:

Add-AppvClientPackage : Application Virtualization Service failed to complete requested operation.
    Operation attempted: Configure AppV Package.
    AppV Error Code: 0C80070057.
Error module: Streaming Manager. Internal error detail: 4C401C0C80070057.
Please consult AppV Client Event Log for more details.
    Au caractère Ligne:1 : 1
    + Add-AppvClientPackage -Path "C:\App-v Package\IE_Java6_u7_x86\IE_Java6_u7_x86.ap ...
    + ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        + CategoryInfo          : InvalidResult : (:) [Add-AppvClientPackage], ClientException
        + FullyQualifiedErrorId : ConfigurePackageError,Microsoft.AppV.AppvClientPowerShell.AddAppvPackage

I've already sequencing this Java version and succesfully add in client and then publish it, but I had to re-sequencing it. The only difference between the two sequencing phase is, for the first I've launch the Java installer from a internal web page, for the second I use the exe installer.

Sequencer and client version is 5.0.285.0. When I search for this error code I don't find anything, I've tried of course to reboot the client machine.

    I need help please ! Thanks !

  • On friday I've tried to uninstall / reinstall the client but nothing changed, I have a new GUID when I sequence the same source in new package.

Today I re-sequence the package and add to the client without any problems, I don't know why.... If I find something I come back to tell you...

    Thanks for the help !

  • Delete "VFS\UserProgramFiles" folder from the Virtual Files tab in the sequencer before saving.

  • The error message says to view the App-V client event log for more detail - what's in the event log?

  • Hello,
Does the packages have the same GUID? What happens if you reset / reinstall the client?

Try the latest hotfix once is public; http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/appvclients/thread/8ca1ff54-35ea-40f5-b241-de186c206eb8

  • Here the same problem. With several packages.

    Have tried the following.

    1. Reinstalling the client doesn't help.

    2. The hotfix for app-v 5 is out but doesn't work. The fix is for another problem. This error is. 0C80070057. Problem looks the same.

    3. Shared mode doesn't work. tried http and smb.

    4. Offline import also doesn't work.

    5. building new sequenzes also doesn't work.

    6. A total reset off all appv packages, files and registry links.

    Can anybody help.

All settings are deployed through a GPO.

When the "package root installation" is pointing to c:\programdata\appv is saw some packages loading. but not all. (very strange.) Also with procmon.exe i can see that the package wants to load but the "tree" to the package is not being build. checked rights. also tried with several accounts. Even tried ntfs rights everyone..but no luck.

  • You can sequence on a machine that is not on the domain. You just need to ensure you copy your App-V application and all accompanying outputted files to a valid 'content' share. Then import the package into the console from that share.

Have you tried performing a reboot on your Machine after the install of the sequencer? or launching the sequencer, closing without saving and then rebooting?

Perhaps the sequencer is using a template value and assuming it's the first time it's being run every time you run it because you took a snapshot after install??

  • Hello

Most likely you have a different error than the person who started this thread. I suggest you post your details in a new thread and perhaps explain your environment a bit more and the errors you are experiencing in your specific situation

  • I also have the same Error! I already installed App-V 5 SP1 but the Error is still existing. It is especially with Office 2010 x86 Package. I have 4 other Packages which are working fine.

For Sequencing Office 2010 i followed These Instructions: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2830069

The Cliets get the following Errors:

Part or all packages publish failed.

    published: 4

    failed: 1

Please check the error events of 'Configure/Publish Package' before this message for the details of the failure.

Package {f8ac77f7-0705-4134-a031-66df3b313b22} version {3ad2a574-05c9-47b0-b194-7f0f973cd365} failed configuration in folder 'C:\ProgramData\App-V\F8AC77F7-0705-4134-A031-66DF3B313B22\3AD2A574-05C9-47B0-B194-7F0F973CD365' with error 0x79100710-0xD.

  • Hello,

    Your error code is completely different;

    0x79100710-0xD.

    I suggest you follow-up in the thread you have created previously, and perhaps investigate the other options presented here - such as enabling more extended logging to identify the details of the error;

  • I have the same issue (0C80070057, 4C401C0C80070057) virtualizing Java 1.5.0_11 on Windows 7 x64 with APP-V Sequencer 5.0 (and also with APP-V Sequencer 5.0 SP1).

I'm testing some solutions, and the problem don't appear when I change the Java installation path to "C:\jre1.5.0.11".

    Best regards!

  • One of the applications I'm sequencing actually had the same problem (0x4C401C0C-0x80070057) and this fixed my problem.  The application was failing with the 0x4C401C0C-0x80070057 on App-V 5SP1 and SP2 and by just removing the folder fixed the problem right away.

    Thanks a lot ladida!!!
