How to revert Boot Partition Back to original RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all

[Discussion related to Vista Home Premium]
I wrongly selected my Newly bought Ext HDD as "Active" in Disk Management when i was trying to partition it.
And when i booted up the next time , i got BSOD (understandably) and it keeps re-booting immediately.

when i select "Repair" option thats recommended at startup, I dont see the OS to be repaired in the list. So this option does not help.
When i click browse button to add driver for HDD i found that my original Boot partition is not even listed in "My Computer" Virtual Folder.
If a partition is flagged out to be Boot partition will it not even appear as a partition at all ???

I like to know how can i revert back by boot partition back to the original partition without the ability to Log into vista
I backed up the data as a precautionary step by using a Linux Live CD. I am hoping to check if i can change the boot partition from Live CD.

should i Have to edit Boot.ini or use bsdedit.exe to change the partition as my boot partition ?

    Thanks,
    Harish
