Transferring favorites to other computers on the network RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi I am a Technician at a large secondary school and received a request to transfer a network user's favourites from one computer to all others they log onto when using  the schools network computers, is there a way of doing this?

  • transfer a network user's favourites from one computer to all others

In that case why not just have them point to that common source?  E.g. either using the registry via User Shell Folders \\ Favorites or using the Windows Explorer GUI (right-click the shell:Favorites directory item and change Properties, Location)

  • Hi,

Is the school network a domain environment?

If so, for the certain user profile, you can try to redirect the favorites folder on a server share via GPO:
