How to save a project to Project Server 2010 using Project Standard 2010 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everybody!

I'd like to know if it is possible to install "Microsoft Project Server 2010 Accounts" into a computer with MS Project 2010 Standard. I know this funtionality is available with MS Project 2010 Professional, but I don't know if it is available separately.

Thanks in advance for any support!

  • Jgomezpe,

I've never heard of the product "Microsoft Project Server 2010 Accounts" but, never the less it is probably a "server" type product and therefore it is not attractive (possible?) to install it on to a desktop computer as you ask.  Suggest you contact the person who runs the "Microsoft Project Server 2010 Accounts" service for you and get their guidance.

FYI. The version of desktop Project you need to access  "Microsoft Project Server 2010"  is Microsoft Project Professional 2010.  These are two distinct Microsoft products. See http://www.microsoft.com/project/en/gb/product-information.aspx for more information and links to other resources.

No, you CANNOt create a Project Server 2010 user account using the Standard version of Microsoft Project 2010.  You must use the Professional version of the software to create a Project Server 2010 login account and connect to Project Server.  Hope this helps.
