link aggregation for redundancy RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,
I have two Cisco 2960S switches in stack
I need to connect a server so that it is always available when you turn off one of the two switches.
I think I understand that I have to connect the server using two network cables, one for each switch, and enable link aggregation.
What confuses me is that I have seen that the link aggregation can be enabled directly from the network adapters in the server, but often I hear of link aggregation like configuration to be done on the switches.
Things are different, both are enabled, one excludes the other ??? Could you kindly suggest which is the easiest way to have redundancy?
    thank you
