Software Installation and Accessing Issues in Windows Server 2008 R2 Environment. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have two problems.

1.Hi, I have one DC as WinServer 2008 R2 and some xp clients, and I am installing the softwares using GPO by publishing them to machines, everything is ok, but after the software has been published successfully on the machines, once the domain users get login to the machines and try to access the installed softwares its saying that "You dont have proper privilege.....". And the installed softwares are of no use to domain users.

    2. Even if I assign the software to the user in GPO, login to machines with the respected domain user, trying to install the software from add/remove, its saying dont have privelege..........

Please help me out with this.

    Thanks.

Your end users will need administrator rights to trigger the  software. Which means either on the local machine you will need to grant them administrator privelledges or you can write a software installation script and hardcode the administrator credential inside the setup script.
