Is it Vista or my card?? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have just bought a new Acer computer which of course came with Vista and some model Realtek that I can't find a number on!!  I use my computer for recording with Cakewalk Sonar Home Studio. I plug a Behringer mixer into the sound card. This all worked fine on my other computer that had XP. Now I get dropouts which causes the audio engine in Cakewalk to stop after about 30 seconds of recording. Is it my card or Vista?? and if it is the card, is there an update or a better card?

  • Hi

The first thing to do is contact the makers of that software and device and ask about any known compatibility issues with Windows Vista. They may have updated software / drivers.

You can also check here for those products.

    Windows Vista Hardware Compatibility List.

    Windows Vista Software Compatibility Center:

    Hope this helps.
