What is the basis for 1.3.6.1.4.1.311.47.1.1?

What is the basis for the value of 1.3.6.1.4.1.311.47.1.1 as the SHA cert?

Like how 255 is really 128 64 32 16 8 4 2 1.... what's the underlying reason behind the value of 1.3.6.1.4.1.311.47.1.1 (if any?). Does it have a mathmatical reason or is it like the birth dates of the engineers? :-) Just wondering?

Hi Susan,

I know 1.3.6.1.4.1.311 is reserved for Microsoft. I'll see if I can find out why 47.1.1. was specifically chosen for system health authentication.

Hi Susan,

I have some additional info. The 47 represents Enterprise Networking and the rest simply means this is a version 1 health certificate.
