Microsoft Mac lync client 2011 not able to receive the content thorugh FreeRDP stack(means using remote desktop protocol)

    Question

  • When any other lync(Windows lync) rather mac lync share the content through RDP protocol. There are some communication happen between RDP stack and Mac lync. After this communication RDP start sending content data to Mac lync.

    There is connection sequence between RDP stack and Mac Lync for RDP connection establishment.

    *                                      Connection Sequence\n

    *     client                                                                    server\n

    *        |                                                                         |\n

    *        |-----------------------X.224 Connection Request PDU--------------------->|\n

    *        |<----------------------X.224 Connection Confirm PDU----------------------|\n

    *        |-------MCS Connect-Initial PDU with GCC Conference Create Request------->|\n

    *        |<-----MCS Connect-Response PDU with GCC Conference Create Response-------|\n

    *        |------------------------MCS Erect Domain Request PDU-------------------->|\n

    *        |------------------------MCS Attach User Request PDU--------------------->|\n

    *        |<-----------------------MCS Attach User Confirm PDU----------------------|\n

    *        |------------------------MCS Channel Join Request PDU-------------------->|\n

    *        |<-----------------------MCS Channel Join Confirm PDU---------------------|\n

    *        |----------------------------Security Exchange PDU----------------------->|\n

    *        |-------------------------------Client Info PDU-------------------------->|\n

    *        |<---------------------License Error PDU - Valid Client-------------------|\n

    *        |<-----------------------------Demand Active PDU--------------------------|\n

    *        |------------------------------Confirm Active PDU------------------------>|\n

    *        |-------------------------------Synchronize PDU-------------------------->|\n

    *        |---------------------------Control PDU - Cooperate---------------------->|\n

    *        |------------------------Control PDU - Request Control------------------->|\n

    *        |--------------------------Persistent Key List PDU(s)-------------------->|\n

    *        |--------------------------------Font List PDU--------------------------->|\n

    *        |<------------------------------Synchronize PDU---------------------------|\n

    *        |<--------------------------Control PDU - Cooperate-----------------------|\n

    *        |<-----------------------Control PDU - Granted Control--------------------|\n

    *        |<-------------------------------Font Map PDU-----------------------------|\n

    This above connection sequence should follow but here RDP stack is server and Mac lync is client. So,Demand Active PDU is sent from RDP stack but mac lync respond with Confirm Active PDU reponse. So, RDP is not proceeding furthur. Could please give us any input on that what could be reason for client not responding.

    NOTE: Same thing is working with Windows lync client.

  • Nothing you'll be able to fix or modify. I would suggest going to SkypePreview.Com and signing up for the new Skype Mac client and see if desktop sharing works well for you there.
