WORD 2007 macro-enabled Template on Sharepoint 2007 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi Folks,

Is it possible to move a WORD 2007 macro-emabled template to a Sharepoint folder and have it execute successfully?

I am having difficulty making it happen.  I may be approaching it in a completely bass-acwards fashion as I have no training with setting up macro-enabled templates or with Sharepoint (other than as a contributor).

I have macro-enabled templates that I have succeeded in getting to work on my laptop (running Windows 7,  WORD 2007).  I tried to migrate one of them to a Sharepoint folder.  I placed a copy of the DOTM and an ancillary file used to store a sequence number to the Sharepoint folder.  I modified the path names in the macro to reflect the new location.  However,  when I open the template in Sharepoint, Sharepoint ostensbily treats the action as if I want to modify the file instead of using it as a template from which to create a file.

Thank you for your time and attention.
