  • There a few reasons that some machines do not show in the network section, and lots of posts in these forums concerning that. Search this forums or the internet to see lots of examples. Often different things 'fix' it at different times.

One thing to try, turn on SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support. Right click start Apps and Features. Click Programs and Features over on the right under Related settings (you can just type appwiz.cpl in the start search to open the direct)
Once Program and Features is open click Turn Windows features on or off on the left. Scroll down to SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support check that is checked for SMB 1.0/CIFS File Client. See if that helps.

To access the Windows 7 direct, in the File Explorer address bar (where it says Quick Access by default when opened) and enter \\WIN7PCNAME, so \\ then the computer name of the Windows 7 PC.
