[SCOM 2007 R2 - AD MP] - Intersite Replication : how to deal with multiple intersite replication delays ? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello everyone,

I have one - not that simple I'm afraid - question about the AD MP tunning. Let's imagine that I have 3 AD sites: A, B, C. A replicates with B & C. B replicates only with A, C replicated only with A. So far, so good. Now, A and B replicate once every 4 hours but A and C replicate once every week.

Question: how - and what - do I tune the AD MP so that replication monitoring takes this configuration into consideration ?

    Sincerely,

  • Hi Philippe:

This monitoring by default is per-forest and is a 15 minute delay. Details on how to set this on a forest basis are at:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc180619.aspx

Using on that logic, you would set an override that was based on the slowest link in the forest (7 days), even though this would be a really high theshold for the 4 hour link.

You are asking to override that setting on a site-link-based basis (if I understand correctly).

There is no standard way to override the Intersite Replication overrides on a per site link basis. You can override all servers in the forest equally or differently, but the overrides are per server, not per site link.

At this site: http://opsmgrunleashed.wordpress.com/2009/09/29/opsmgr-r2-by-example-the-active-directory-management-pack/ check out "Alert: AD Replication is slower than the configured threshold" section. There are many tips there on creating groups then applying overrides to the groups.
