EMET blocks IE 11 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I downloaded  and installed IE 11 yesterday and when I try to open it, I get the message "EMET detected Sim Exec Flow mitigation and will close the application: iexplore.exe." Norton AV scanned the IE folder and found no virus. I have other browsers so can still get to the Internet, but I can't understand why one MS product doesn't play well with other MS products. Is there a solution or a patch coming? I'm using Windows 7.

  • Probably one of the components (add-ons) is causing this problem. Can you post the information from the Application Eventlog about this mitigation?

You can also try to start Internet Explorer 11 in No Add-ons mode by running the Run command from the Start menu, and then typing iexplore.exe -extoff into the box. If this solves the problem you can search for the add-on which is causing the problem by disabling them one for one temporarily.
