Configure MDT and WDS to install different version of windows 10 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having a difficult time configuring MDT and WDS to boot two different versions of windows. What I want to do is whenever a device PXE boots is to offer two options one for windows 10 1803 and one for windows 10 1809.

What are the best options to accomplish this?

  • I believe if you have two different Deployment Shares then you can create two different boot WIM files to add to WDS. One would be for 1803, the other for 1809.

  • Super easy,

1- import OSs 1803 and 1809 in MDT

2- Create two task sequences (One with OS 1803, the other with OS 1809)

    3- That's all !!!

  • You do not need different boot images, in fact make sure you are using an ADK that matches the latest OS you want to deploy. As mentioned above, just build an 1803 and 1809 image. Import those two OS and make a task sequence for each.

You can deploy Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 all from the same Deployment Share if you wanted to.
