Disable alerts on specific librarys

Question
-
I’ve a News site (publishing site) in my portal structure (team sites) – and I would like to make a link to the “Alert me” from the portals FrontPage to the news pages library’s alert function....
But when I click on the “Administer My alerts” on the news frontpage and the "add alert"
I get directed to http://<contoso>/news/_layouts/SubChoos.aspx (all good...) but there are five lists and a next/cancel button…The 5 list are:
- Pictures
- Documents
- Pages
- Workflows
- Short news (a custom list I've created)
I would like only to present the “pages” and the “Short news” library as an option to subscribe to…
So how do I remove the other ones from this page?

Hi,
Actually, you don't need to remove them, you can select one list , like short news to create a alert, and then right click your alert name, click properties, copy url, edit alert link in your frontpage with this url. If you want more alerts, you can create a new page with all alerts links, you just need to change alert link in your frontpage to be the page's url.

Hi,
If I go to _layouts/MySubs.aspx I have the option to add and remove alerts. Do you have that option too?

Hi
Yes...but it's not this..
If you press the "add alert" the next page will show a message "Choose a list or library..." and at the right side on the page I have 5 options (radio buttons) ...it's thees 5 I would like to reduce to only 2 ...
It makes no sense IMHO that users can subscribe to a workflow list...

Hi Jasper
It's not a 3'party I need... just want to remove some of the libraries...and when I can create a new that shows up there - I must also have the ability to remove one (or more)

I don't think that's possible.

Hi,
alerts will be set on web base not on list base. There is no property that can be set that a library is not avaliable for alert selection.
You can disable alert using custom solution deployment but if a user creates a new alert the list will be avaliable for selection too.
Kind regards
Stefan
