  • Checked the above links and they did not help.

    Rorymon, i have not set any policy through GPO to the client.

    I have a server and a client which is RDS enabled. Trying to launch apps from the server after running the below commands on the server:

    Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope Process -Force
    Import-Module AppvClient

    Add-AppvPublishingServer -Name servername -URL http://Servername:50533

    Once, this is done the app shortcuts appear in the desktop and when clicked on them it does nothing.

    I get the below error in the event viewer :

    Log Name:      System
    Source:        Application Popup
    Date:          7/25/2013
    Event ID:      26
    Task Category: None
    Level:         Information
    Keywords:      Classic
    User:          N/A
    Computer:      servername
    Application popup: firefox.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application.
    Event Xml:
    <Event xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event">
        <Provider Name="Application Popup" />
        <EventID Qualifiers="16384">26</EventID>
        <TimeCreated SystemTime="2013-07-26T10:43:39.000000000Z" />
        <Security />
        <Data>firefox.exe - Application Error</Data>
        <Data>The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. </Data>

    Strange thing is, when i stop the "Microsoft App-V Client" service and then double click the shortcut, the app opens but with a huge time delay.

    • What is the source URL for the packages?
    • How have you configured the management/publishing and streaming servers?
    • What protocol are you using for streaming?

  • URL is : http://Servername:50533 for Publishing server.

    Both management/publishing servers were installed with default configuration apart from the port numbers.

    The port number used is "50533"

  • Did you publish the packages to users or Computers?

    If you open your Publishing Server URL from the Client, logged in as a user that should get App-V applications, an XML formatted reply should be generated. Apparently this is working for you, since you get the shiortcuts and alike. Within that XML, there are URIs (URL or UNC) to the Streaming source. Try to open one of them, including the .appv exetnetions (in a browser or Windows Explorer). Your client should come up with a Dialog box, asking what to do with .appv files.

    Does that work?
