Force all headings in grid to be on same row RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have an Analytical Grid report in a PPS Monitoring Dashboard.
    Rows are for sales people
    Columns are for different accounts

The query looks something like this:

    Select
    Hierarchize({[Account].[Account1], [Account].[Account2], [Account].[Account3], [Account].[Account4]}) on columns,
    {[Top Sales People]} on rows
    From [My Cube]

The query is built by dragging the dimensions etc into Rows and Columns in the Design pane of Reports in PPS. The accounts are selected from an Account.Accounts type hierarchy.

(Top Sales People is a named set.)

Now, in the self referencing Account hierarchy, this is the structure
    [Account].[Account1]
    …..[Account].[Account2]
    …. [Account].[Account3]
     [Account].[Account4]

Unfortunately, and what I wonder how to fix, is that my grid looks like this:

    …………………………...Account1…………………………………………………………..Account4
    ……………………………..……..…………..Account2………Account3…………………………….
    Sales people
    John…………………….......367………….445……………………6545……………………..3543
    Caroline……………….........323………….644……………………2545…………...………..1543
    Bart……….…………….......343………….242……………………5545…………..….……..5543

What I want is to have all the accounts on the same row, like this:

    ………………………… Account1……..Account2………Account3……………………… Account4
    Sales people
    John……………………........367………….445……………………6545……………………..3543
    Caroline……………….........323………….644……………………2545…………….………..1543
    Bart……….…………….......343………….242……………………5545…………….………..5543

How can I do that? I can’t find a setting for ”keep all hierarchy members on the same row”...

    With regards,

    Kaisa

  • Unfortunately, I don't think removing the HIERARCHIZE will work.

The analytic grid does have the ability to flatten out the hierarchy on rows (by setting the Report Type to Tabular), but this is not supported on columns at this time.

You could Pivot your report to put accounts on rows (although that's probably not what you want).

  • Hi Kaisa

Try removing the Hierarchize funcrion from your mdx:

    Select
    {[Account].[Account1], [Account].[Account2], [Account].[Account3], [Account].[Account4]} on columns,
    {[Top Sales People]} on rows
    From [My Cube]
