  • General discussion

  • Hi tecno experts   I currently have 250 plus ??? security updates etc from Microsoft and want to delete the earlier ones.. is this  ok to do by deletion.. as I feel that my windows 7 on my pc is running very slow..  have deleted some games etc that grandson put there.   and will go through the others over the weekend.. can I delete all earlier updates  say upto last 6 weeks.. and is there a quicker way to do this instead of one by one which is what I have done occasionally .. but this takes forever  thankyou.

  • Its HIGHLY recommended to keep the updates that has been applied to your windows. Do not touch updates since these things can cause unpredictable issues, may be your system is vulnerable to multiple threats and may be you will not be able to boot or login to your system even. results are unknown.

IF you really need this is how, But proceed at your own risk

I would suggest you to do alternative ways of speeding up your pc..

Besides removing security updates will not increase your system performance instead your pc will be thrown towards vulnerabilities and other consequences..

  • Thankyou for your information on all my security updates.. I would definitely keep lots of my updates  but there must be some that can be removed.. especially the very oldest ones.. that all have the same information as the current ones.. I appreciate your information that there is possibly other issues with my pc  and I am weeding lots of crap out of my pc hard drive  and transferring lots of pictures  and personal stuff to my removable  portable hard drive backup.    But just wanted to get rid of SOME of the earlier stuff re  security updates  but obvisouly not recommended   Cheers...Thank you  Cheryl 1950
