When will IE 9 be available? RRS feed

  • Question

  • I like IE8 and prefer more of the same with IE9 plus a more Internet knowledge list of IE add-ons. So when will IE9 be out of Beta testing and on the download center?

  • Absolutely nothing has been announced yet.  If you are a developer, you can benefit from an early look at that platform preview (http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/), because that's mainly geared to developers who are building solutions that they want to test with it.  Beyond that, it's really too early to say.

  • As a disclaimer - I would add that the current IE9 preview is not by any means feature complete.  The goal of the preview is only to give developers a platform to learn and test their web applications on.  It's not meant to be a good example of the full set of look-and-feel or performance that will be found in the final product.
