How can I get my report updated in Power BI service? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi everyone,

In June Microsoft introduced a new Power BI API ‘Try-it’ tool:

    https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-developer-community-april-may-update/#try-it

This tool allows to "explore Power BI REST API without any code".

Nevertheless, I'd like to use this tool in another way. I want to run Power BI REST API in Power BI to create a report analyzing information on Power BI artifacts I have access to.

Actually, a report I made works fine in Power BI Desktop. The ‘Try-it’ tool provides me with an Authorization Bearer that I am using in an anonymous connection. The code below works fine in Power BI Desktop:

The problem is that when the report is published to Power BI service I can't get it updated:

I think this article explains what is happening:
    https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/skip-test-connection-for-on-premises-and-cloud-data-sources

    The author says:

For cloud data sources connecting to a URL, a test connection is performed against the root URL. This may be a blocker where the URL contains authentication keys, for example. Enabling Skip test connection also helps in such scenarios.

OK, but there is no such option "Skip test connection" visible.

    The article starts stating:

we have temporarily disabled the “skip test connection” feature
Is it really disabled now and I have to wait, or there never were such an option in a window whose screen I provided?

How can I get my report updated in Power BI service? Is there another work around this issue?
