Updates MS16-011 and MS16-012 missing on WSUS 3 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello.  We're running WSUS version 3.2.7600.256 on Windows Server 2008R2, and we are not seeing MS16-011 and MS16-012 on our WSUS.  We have Critical and Security Updates set to synchronize for all Windows versions 7+.  Does anybody know why we might not be receiving these updates?

  • Manually importing the MS16-012 updates appears to have done the trick.  I was not able to find any updates for MS16-011; however, after manually searching the KB article numbers, I discovered they were filed for MS16-009.  Presumably the IE updates for MS16-009 also install the appropriate updates for Edge as detailed in MS16-011.  Thanks for the wild goose chase, Microsoft. :)

  • I should clarify; we are a mostly Windows 7 shop, but we have Windows 8 tablets and a few testing stations running Windows 10, as well as servers running 2008 R2 and 2012.  Our WSUS is configured to download updates for all Windows versions 7 and up (i.e. 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 2008, 2008R2, and 2012).

  • I have already tried this.  I have all the other updates released yesterday, but not 011 and 012.

  • You can import manually from wsus http://catalog.update.microsoft.com/v7 and discover why are not automatically download, maybe WSUS thinks does not apply to your environment.
