Unable to authenticate to subversion server using NTLM after build kb3185614 RRS feed

  • Question

  • My windows 10 is not joining company domain just login with my outlook account. I used to access subversion server on company network through tortoiseSVN or my IDE using domain user and password. Everything is working ok till windows update kb3185614, it gives me connection error due to failed authorization.

I tried fiddler to capture network traffic and found that it send http request with authorization header NTLM [workgorup user and password base64]. It should send my domain user and password instead.

I uninstalled this update and everything work again, but with anniversary update it return back to give me connection error.

    How to solve this issue?

  • Hi,

Would you please post your network traffic onto OneDrive and share the link here for our research?

Since I am not familiar with tortoiseSVN, just provide you some suggestions maybe helpful.

    Solution here for your reference:

In addition, as I know about this product, SMB protocol is also used for server access, please check solution below to see the results:

    1. Run PowerShell as Administrator

    2. Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature 1

Answer Y when prompted to confirm the modification.

    3. Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanWorkstation\Parameters" RequireSecureNegotiate -Value 0 -Force

    4.  Control Panel / Programs and Features / Turn Windows Features On or Off and make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is ticked

Also, the Atlassian link is not helpful. I keep uninstalling the updates, and now the update number is different and cause the same issue Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3199209)
