MIM 2016 - Portal UI bug, Sync Rule editing- Outbound Attribute Flow page navigation control doesn't work as designed RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to edit Outbound Attribute Flows in an existing & working rule.   I currently have 12 Attribute Flows defined which the UI forces viewing into 2 pages.  The page currently has Navigation Bar limits of a page to 10 rules displayed. The bar does not work as expected and I can only view page 2 by going forward to next page , then going backwards.  Unfortunately I can then view the 2 additional rules but the hyperlink to edit the attribute rule does not trigger and I cannot edit it!

    Is there a workaround?

Can I change the default page size for the attribute UI?   Maybe to 15 rows?

    Thanks Stu

  • MIM 2016 RTM will show 4.3.0.0 via Portal help even though the Sync engine will show 4.3.1935.0. The versioning mismatch is corrected in the latest hotfix KB 3092179.

In regards to the IE/Portal problem, I am not duplicating the problem under .NET Framework 4.6.1 and checked behavior against MIM RTM and latest hotfix.

  • Hello,

it may be possible that you just run into the IE11 issue:

    See: https://justidm.wordpress.com/2015/01/07/fim-portal-issues-after-installing-ie11-update-kb3008923-for-win-8-1/

Since nothing has changed in MIM at that point this may resolv your issue.

  • Unfortunately when installation is attempted it says it's not applicable to my system. The support note referenced a hotfix it was dependent on and I manually installed that (Windows8.1-KB3008923-x64.msu).

    Still have the issue.

  • I still am getting this issue on the MIM server when using the portal. The server is Windows 2012 R2 with IE 11 and the latest updates. I do MIM deployments using the browser on the server via RDP sessions.   The fix that Peter recommended states that it does not apply when I attempt to install it.

The Edge browser does not work well at all with the portal. Does anyone have a browser they can recommend that does not have an issue with modelDialogboxes and page  navigation?

    Thanks, Stu

  • Stu,

What version of IE 11 are you using?  In my enclosed lab I'm running 11.0.9600.18125 w/ the KB3104002 update and am not experiencing the same behavior as you.

  • Same on my MIM 2016 box: 11.0.9600.18125 / kb3104002
    My Wind10 workstation: 11.1000.11082.0 kb3093983

  • Stu,

I am not able to reproduce this behavior under that same version of IE.  Shot in the dark, but I'm wondering if you have IE add-ons that could be causing the problem. In IE go to Tools, Manage Add-ons, and see if disabling any of the add-ons will help.

  • Only the normal MS add-ons are loaded.  I have had this issues across multiple machines and browsers.  Edge also sees this issue.

  • Probably this won't help much but I just playing with MIM 2016 and it works fine in IE 11 under WIN10. I can create a sync rule with more than 10 outbound attribute flows and both navigation and editing works perfectly fine. Versions: Portal showing 4.3.0.0 (that's weird 'cause in sync I can see 4.3.1935.0), IE 11.20.10586.0, WIN10 1511 (10586.36)

  • Hi,

what Version of  .NET Framework do you have installes.

Some time ago I find out that with 4.5.2 I had no problems with Portal, but with installing 4.6 I got the problem you mentioned.

I had not checked if that issue is gone with the latest (first) hotfix for MIM

  • I have NET Framework 4.6 installed on the MIM server.  I just installed the latest MIM 2016 hotfix this past Friday and still have the issue.
