System Service Exception... all my memory is bad? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I've changed my RAM at the beginning of the month on my laptop so that I could have more. The old RAM was working fine. After the change, I started having BSOD. So yesterday I scanned my RAM with MemTest86+ and it showed a lot of errors. So this morning I put my old memory back. But the first time I booted, I had a new BSOD.

So I scanned my old RAM and, again, it said I had many errors.

Now I have a hard time believing that all my RAM is broken.

    Could it be something else?

    - Bad RAM connectors (even though they look fine)?

    - Bad BIOS upgrade?

    - Problem with power (although it has a battery)

    - What else could it be?

    Oh and I just reinstalled.

    Thank you :)

  • Maybe the motherboard (RAM slots) is damaged.

  • Is that something that can be changed (that is worth changing) without paying huge money?
