  •

I have received the following error:

Windows created a temporary paging file on your computer because of a problem that occured with your paging file configuration when you started your computer.

Would it be possible to provide and updated article for this issue and not just pre Windows XP?

    Thank you

  • Hi,

Please navigate to Control Panel-System-Advanced system settings-Advanced-Performance-Settings-Advanced-Change to enlarge Virtual Memory.

Also please check whether the size of volume which is hosting your operation system is little, you can follow the below steps to change the directory for pagefile.sys.

    1.Type “regedit”-“ HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management”.

    2. On the right side of the window, choose the PagingFiles.

    3. Double click it, change the file location.(Note: number there is about the minimum and  maximum pagefile size).
