Removing SharePoint Link from excel 2007 Spreadsheet RRS feed

  • Question

  • I need clear documentation on how to unlink a spreadsheet using open XML and C#. The spreadsheet is linked to a SharePoint 2007 list.

    Thanks,

    Sara

  • Hi Sara,

I have been having a similar issue with a PowerPoint slide reference to a slide library also.

Here is a good forum to post a question on:

Open Xml Format SDK forum : http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/oxmlsdk/threads

A really useful tool to use to understand the C# code that is used to create the xml is the Open XML SDK 2.0 for Microsoft Office

    http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5124

This not only contains the dlls required to access the xml object model and the full object references, it also contains a really useful reflector tool in the "OpenXMLSDKTool.msi". Great things about that tool:

    1. Reflects an existing document's xml (e.g. pptx/xslx) into C# so you can understand how its put together
    2. Can compare differences between 2 Office X docs
    3. Can generate the c# code required to transform one xml doc into another. e.g xlsx with links into xslx without link. Providing you have the target and source xml docs you want to transform between.

    Really good tutorials are here:

    Good luck with your challenge!

  • This isn't an Excel Services question.

It's a question about an Excel spreadhseet in a SP site. Completely different.

Moving to Admin - the Excel Services forum is only for Excel Services questions

WSS3/MOSS FAQ (FAQ and Links) http://wssv3faq.mindsharp.com/default.aspx
Both also have links to extensive book lists and to (free) on-line chapters
