    I am an individual. No server. No sharepoint. I want to email an Excel file using the protection provided in this document: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/information-rights-management-in-office-2010-HA010354260.aspx

    I installed the Microsoft Rights Management Sharing Application: https://portal.aadrm.com/Home/Download

    I doesn't work like described in the document above. It is asking for a Microsoft Online Services ID, which I don't have. This seems to be for corporate sharing files on their server.

    How do individuals use the capabilities described in the document above? Do I need to install or buy something?

    Hi Jack -

    Have you signed up for Microsoft Rights Management for Individuals?  This is a free offering that allows you to create and consume protected content in Office (and more).  The recipient of your file must also sign up for RMS for Individuals as well.  Here's the link: https://portal.aadrm.com/
